Reiki Training
THE TEACHING OF REIKI ENERGY HEALINGAs an approved Teacher registered with the The Reiki Association, you can be sure my courses are of the highest standard. I teach traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki which is accepted everywhere and shows a direct link back to Dr Mikao Usui.
Reiki is an ancient healing used thousands of years ago in Tibet, China and India. Rediscovered over a hundred years ago by Dr Usui, it is a growing and more widely accepted healing modality. It reinforces the body's natural ability to harmonise itself and can support and enhance all other forms of treatment. Modern living drains our reserves and Reiki can help to gently support and strengthen the body and mind during periods of stress and trauma. It works holistically on the whole person and to bring about a sense of deep relaxation and wellbeing. No belief systems are attached to Reiki and there is no conflict with any religious beliefs already held. It is now increasingly used in hospices, hospitals and other conventional medical settings to enhance other forms of treatment. Reiki's gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation. Being complementary, Reiki works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.
Reiki enhances everyday living, and regular sessions may help to promote development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being.
It is becoming increasingly popular as an additional skill for healthcare professionals, and I have taught nurses, physiotherapists, carers, etc. Science is now helping us to understand the mechanics of healing and research is helping hugely in getting this "Biofield Medicine" more widely accepted.
REIKI IS TAUGHT IN FOUR STAGES:
FIRST DEGREE can be learnt over one weekend and is complete in itself. The proposed training standards specify at least 14 hours initial training. The focus is on how to develop your own body/mind connection, to discover who you really are, to understand about energy and to treat yourself and others (including animals). We meet for 2 further half days following the course and ongoing support is given.
SECOND DEGREE furthers your knowledge and experience of Reiki energy and gives you additional tools /techniques to enhance your treatment, especially of others, and achieving this level allows you to become a practitioner. We continue the journey of self discovery and personal development. It is recommended that you should wait at least 3 months from Reiki 1 before undertaking level 2 training. Following a 2 day course ongoing support is then arranged for the newly qualified practitioner on a 1 to 1 or group basis.
SECOND DEGREE PRACTITIONER LEVEL
For those who wish to progress to becoming a professional Reiki practitioner, this course has been verified and approved by the Reiki Association as complying with the Core Curriculum for the teaching of Reiki as laid down by the Reiki Council. As Reiki moves towards being a fully regulated therapy this will be extremely important in the future.
Following your initial traditional Reiki training, we will work towards the completion of an evidenced portfolio, which verifies the number of face to face training hours you have received, the number of hours of individual study completed on all aspects of professional practice, case studies, treatment guidance and observed treatments. It is recommended this takes place over a period of 9 months but is done at your own pace with all the support and guidance you need.

If students wish to attend full days for guidance on complying with the CC and NOS, or help in completing paperwork, this can be arranged at a cost of £50 per full day.
THIRD DEGREE is for those who wish to deepen their awareness of Reiki and ..
MASTER TEACHING DEGREE is the final step - although you never stop learning with Reiki! - which can then progress to giving you the skills to become a teacher yourself. Following the initial course regular contact is maintained with a further 3 half-days booked, observance of case studies and many hours logged over a 12 month period.
You can find me as an approved course provider on the Reiki Association website, together with CHNC - all the practitioner/teacher members of these governing bodies have comprehensive insurance and adhere to their Codes of Ethics and Standards of Practice. REIKI 1 Cost : £285 (remember this includes ongoing support)
REIKI 2 Cost : £375 or £450 for Practitioner qualification
REIKI 3 /MASTERS Cost : £550
MASTERS / TEACHING arranged on a one to one basis
Please note courses are arranged to suit demand and many dates are slotted in during the year.
All of my courses will be held in a peaceful and private location. Course costs include all refreshments, organic vegetarian lunches and detailed manuals, together with all the ongoing support you need. Teaching can be on an individual basis or in small groups of no more than 4 to ensure that individual needs are met. Remember that the initial cost also includes the additional time we will spend together following your course.
I do suggest that we meet for an hour or so to discuss commencement of Reiki training and for you to confirm that I am the right teacher for you. This is, of course, complimentary.
